Decoding Potential
By: Flower, Robert
Published by: Electronic & Database Publishing, Inc.
This volume is not just another vague, new-agey, self-help book. Instead, it is based on empirical science. While the books concepts integrate philosophy, religion, and sociology, each theorem is presented and backed by scientific principles. The concept of potential, its actual existence, manifestation, and application are all discussed and illustrated by real world examples. Potential itself is demonstrated to be an imperative a creative force in the natural, physical world, and in all spheres of human endeavor. The book demonstrates that the same creative imperative driving the natural world can be adapted as a program or design for mankind living in society. By using fundamental principles discovered by the scientific method, called natural thinking and intelligences (NATI), one can enhance understanding of their natural selves and abilities, achieve goals, dramatically increase potential, gain mastery, and overcome obstacles in all aspects of life. The point of the book is to demonstrate a blueprint for dramatically increasing potential. The discovery of the NATI principles demonstrate easy to follow, scientifically based methods for understanding our natural selves and our problems. The book is designed for both individuals and businesses to improve performance and behave virtuously the point is that performance, potential, and virtue are intrinsically related in a symbiotic, scientifically observable relationship found in nature.

Entering the Castle
By: Myss, Caroline; Wilber, Ken
Published by: Free Press
Internationally renowned motivational teacher, spiritual instructor, and popular theologian Caroline Myss has created a transcendent work of unique insight and revelation in Entering the Castle. This exciting new teaching of contemporary mysticism is also a brilliant synthesis of the psychology of consciousness and of Eastern and Western mystical traditions. Myss provides a highly original inner path to self-knowledge -- which is also the road into a spiritual knowledge of God and your own soul -- as she reveals a necessary external path, one that takes you out into the world to serve God and others as a mystic without a monastery -- without having to retreat into total silence, self-denial, or isolation.

Ethics for the New Millennium
By: Lama, Dalai
Published by: Riverhead
In a difficult, uncertain time, it takes a person of great courage, such as the Dalai Lama, to give us hope. Regardless of the violence and cynicism we see on television and read about in the news, there is an argument to be made for basic human goodness. The number of people who spend their lives engaged in violence and dishonesty is tiny compared to the vast majority who would wish others only well. According to the Dalai Lama, our survival has depended and will continue to depend on our basic goodness. Ethics for the New Millennium presents a moral system based on universal rather than religious principles. Its ultimate goal is happiness for every individual, irrespective of religious beliefs. Though the Dalai Lama is himself a practicing Buddhist, his apporach to life and the moral compass that guides him can lead each and every one of usMuslim, Christian, Jew, Buddhist, or atheistto a happier, more fulfilling life.

The Gnostics
By: Martin, Sean
Published by: Pocket Essentials
Gnosticism - derived from the Greek word gnosis, to know - is the name given to various religious schools that proliferated in the first centuries after Christ and, at one time, it almost became the dominant form of Christianity. Yet some Gnostic beliefs derive from the older Mystery traditions of Greece and Rome, and the various Gnostic schools came to be branded as heretical by the emerging Christian church. Indeed, although some Gnostic beliefs are close to mainstream Christianity Gnosticism also held that the world is imperfect as it was created by an evil god who was constantly at war with the true, good God; that Christ and Satan were brothers; that reincarnation exists; and that women were the equal of men As a result, the Gnostics held the Feminine Aspect of God - whom they addressed as Sophia, or Wisdom - in very high regard. They also stressed that we each have a spark of the Divine inside us which, when recognised and developed, will ultimately liberate us from the prison of the material world. Although largely stamped out by the Church by the sixth century, Gnosticism survived underground through groups such as the Bogomils and the Cathars, and influenced the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the psychologist Carl Jung, the Existentialists, the New Age movement and writers as diverse as William Blake, W.B. Yeats, Albert Camus and Philip K. Dick. In this book, Sean Martin recounts the long and diverse history of Gnosticism, and argues for its continued relevance today.
